There are many plans and strategies internationally, regionally and locally, but have we managed to mitigate fisheries impacts and maintain or enhance Predicting global fisheries is a high-order challenge but predictions have been made and updates are needed. Past forecasts, present trends and perspectives of key parameters of the fisheries—including potential harvest, state of stocks, supply and demand, trade, fishing technology and governance—are reviewed in detail, as the basis for new forecasts and forecasting performance … livelihood development and fisheries management capacity-building have been beneficial in terms of enhancing more responsible fishing. Under a joint project on shared tuna fisheries, Australian and Indonesian scientists are reviewing and assessing the status and monitoring of Indian Ocean tuna stocks and related data-gathering fishery and aquaculture industry in its 22 Member States. The aim is to analyze the fishing industry in the ATLAFCO region in the light of commercial changes at the international, regional and national levels for consideration in policy management and utilization of fisheries resources.
